"I don't like people. They suck- in fact, they are the only thing on the planet that Can. Figuratively. Literally. Terribly."
"So how does it feel being one of them?"
"Terrible."
***

"Go, ask for a recheck. This your answer is so not-incorrect, don't you see?"
"I know, P1"
"So, why not..?"
"Would it matter, I mean in the long run, that who scored highest in the mid term exam of class 6?"
"It will."
***

"Congrats! 50 outa 50! wow!"
"Thanks, A1! Well, our mathematics teacher and his terrible mathematics"
"What happened?"
"I didn't even attempt a 5-mark question, and he, thinking he didn't get to put a cross anywhere, awarded me 50/50!"
"Hmm, good for you!"
"Gotta get it corrected."
"There you are, again! You know what they call people like you?"
"Freak?"
***

"I like your integrated way of speaking"
"No M, I don't have that, not anymore."
***

"Meet the prof yaar, one more mark and your grade would go up"
"I won't"
"Why?"
"I never did."
***

"Pseud."
***

"Today, if I step into this room, I would have all my pride lost, for ever."
"You better do, you really have a shitty excess of it"
***

"You digress well."
***

"That one day changed my life; though, for the better"
"If you remember that, then I fear it only made your life worse."

I liked the second one. So, did it matter? You know yet?

Had it not mattered, it won't have been a memory. :)

I like your unflinching righteousness - achchha hai, people like you can change the world: kuch kuch ka to I'm sorry...my current level of intelligence is not allowing me to appreciate some of your studappa..probably I should mark these posts to read them later

The bits you call studappa were actually forewarnings by friends on the way I shouldn't be, but I continued to be all that. These are memories that came flashing after a bad day. These are words I shouldn't have ignored.

Four years at IIT have given mighty blows to my righteousness. (Whenever I stuck to it, I landed in trouble.) Have done all that 'Sir, one more mark, here, plz'. Still, I couldn't stop feeling bad about it. Wish I could; like a good number of us do here.

Na uh, thank yourself: having a conscience is not necessarily painful - just don't encourage doubts
