Baithkar saamne poochha zamaane bhar ka haal..
Vo mile to humse magar.. humii se bekhabar mile.

Seating opposite me, she enquired after everyone I ever knew..
She met me indeed, but, to the very me she appeared indifferent.

Is the she'r yours? I don't know why, it seems very familiar.

Nice attempt at translation.

As far as I know it's mine.. ('coz it's possible for the subconscious to have retained the idea frm somewhere else!)

Thanx!

saamne aaye mere dekha mujhe baat bhi ki
muskuraye bhi purane kisi rishte ke liye
kal ka akhbaar tha bas dekh liya rakh bhi diya

these lines of jagjit singh's ghazal cam to mind..but still there is one more ghazal which really come close to lines by you...cant remember which one...hmmm
nice try at translating...but i guess it never is able to convey the real essence...nice lines

a faint similarity.

Yupp.. that was a bit sane stuff.. and therefore unsuitable for my blog :D

Translations can b good.. it's just tht i'm no expert. :)
