This was a war not for
being alive, but dead
It was deep inside you
It was well in your head
It was the pure, transparent
and unadulterated salinity
Chosen by youself to take on
your already-in-ruins sanity
It was the illusionist’s show
you’d only two reasons to see
Either to let go the control, or
To find if you’d hold on to be
There is such a great similarity
between confidence and a high
You can dare shake a leg
for the first time in public eye
When the war is within you
wars of the world are forgotten
Escapist is the word for you
Funny was your momentary fun

there's smthg missing in the poetry itself...yet the msg is pure n pretty...escspist is the word, n the war certainly is within

I can't be more elaborate. I had in mind an old post by Shivam about his dad googling his name. :P
But my focus has definitely been on the message. (I mean it, Dad, if ever you come and read!)
I don't know why, I felt I was writing this poem. It kind of generates the mood you shouldn't be in. It makes you think - it makes you search for the 'battlefield' - it makes you toggle your heart- it makes you blurt out the anguish to your own self...weird!
I loved the second last stanza - confidence and high - nice concept there!
phew...heavy!!!! ;)
deep , profound were the words which later came to my mind :)
is it better to sit still than rise and fall
Why can't I understand it! I could understand some of the individual lines though and it sure sounds insightful (and experienced)!
[Taps]
I bet the second stanza wud've been absent if u were the writer!:P
You reaffirmed that the lesser a poem says, the more meanings can be derived of it.
That concept isn't much original, i think.
[Desperado]
I now know it's heavy and I wonder how cud I write heavy when I was feeling so light!
Well, they say stagnation is death.

Insightful I don't know, but it was based on an experience for sure!
yes...the war is within us....its in the minds.....but the day the war is won....the world is ours to be ruled .....(an optimistic attitude :o))
beautiful poem
When the war is within you
wars of the world are forgotten
well said and so true :)
