Some unfounded, some justifiable-
Too many grudges I bear against life.
Some apparent, some unconscious-
Many illusions I hold dear, against life.
At times crazy, at times a loser-
Too many times I appear against life.
I swear at God, I swear at the world-
Too many times I swear against life.
Some alcohol, some mental turmoil-
In too many ways I prepare against life.
No more can I fake it, nobody would take it
So everything I spill here against life.
O world! Come and see for yourself
Devoid of a choice, how I shear against life.

Rhyme can hold whine prisoner, wine can set whine free! :P Ok, lame, but the rhyme is quite well-maintained in this ghazal. I guess people aren't that different after all, no one can get rid of whines, all we can try is, to go on sharpening our whines!
Beautiful ghazal. It's after a long time that I read an English one. But no matter how lovely they are, I think English ones can't match the beauty of the Urdu ghazals. Okay, I am biased.
PS: I love the pun in the title. Intended?

Haha.. mast line hai, philospher!
Sharpening whines.. haha.. good, carry on! (Must say you really whine with elegance, whenever you do!) I actually tried to strangle it with the strict format of a ghazal though. Only succeeded in altering the voice coming from its throat. And yeah, it sounds sharper!

I guess we connect more deeply with a language of our own land. Secondly the field of an English ghazal ain't well explored. Thirdly, not much thought went into writing this particular ghazal. :)
Anyway, Mission Translation!
"Kuchh sachche, kuchh bemaani se..
Mujhko shikwe bahut hain zindagaani se."
Good, good! :P
